Heroes Of The Storm: Eternal Conflict New Characters, Features and Map Unveiled

By

Blizzard blends some features of Diablo 3 into the all new Heroes of the Storm: Eternal Conflict. It shall aim to excite fans with two additional characters and a whole new map which takes gamers' challenges into a whole new level. Furthermore, Game Director Dustin Browder explained that new character skins and special events to the free-to-play game are all Diablo-themed.

Heroes of the Storm: Eternal Conflict's new game map is called the Battlefield of Eternity. The new battleground features a central combat arena with two new surrounding lanes. Each team will get to defend their Immortal character while attempting to take down the opposing team's character as well. The idea of two opposing teams and their respective bosses in the map features the concept of heaven and hell battling each other.

The two additional characters feature those adapted from Diablo 3, but with their own Eternal Conflict Modifications. The first character is The Butcher, described as a fierce monster fiend who would battle against the player in Diablo 3; is now an assassin type, and can be played as Hero form in Heroes of the Storm. Another interesting characteristics added to The Butcher is its melee assassin features and its ability to gain bonus damage from eating fresh meat of the slain minions. The second character is Johanna the Crusader, the female fighter who also appeared in Diablo 3.

In a recently held press conference at Blizzard, Technical Director Alan Dabiri said that: "This [the game] is something players have been asking for," talking about the interesting features that they have included. "Up until now, we've had all these different battlegrounds, but they haven't been in our Blizzard universe. This is the first opportunity for players to see one of their favourite game worlds...and we'll keep doing it," he added.

The Diablo-themed map is to be released for public test realm (PTR) on June 23. Heroes of the Storm: Eternal Conflict by Blizzard, along with the additional characters, map and game features shall have its full release on June 30 if all internal tests go as planned.
