Narnia fans might have to wait a little more since The Chronicles of Narnia's fourth installment, 'The Silver Chair' is still being worked on. Meanwhile, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew might be skipped due to criticisms it received from Christians and Atheists.
The Mark Gordon Company, eOne, and CS Lewis Estate is currently developing The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair, although there have been no official cast and director yet, the film will be produced by Mark Johnson, Douglas Gresham, and Vincent Siber. The movie's screenplay will be by David Magie.
This time, the movie will focus on Pevensie children's cousin, Eustace Scrubb and his friend, Jill Pole, who arrives in Narnia, and goes on a mission to save Prince Caspian's son, Prince Rillian. Aslan will also guide them as they face the evil queen.
Meanwhile, whether or not The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew will be made into a movie, is still being debated as it received criticisms from various critics. Christian critics reportedly said that The Chronicles of Narnia is blasphemous,while on the other hand, atheist critics said that the franchise is a Christian propaganda.
'The Magician's Nephew' was said to be the one next in line after the 3 previous installments, but due to the abovementioned critcisms, parties responsible for the development of the film opted to go with 'The Silver Chair' instead. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew is the prequel to the Pevensie children's adventures in Narnia.
The previous installments of The Chronicles of Narnia franchise, 'The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe', 'Prince Caspian', and 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader' grossed $1.5 billion all in all. Although it will be produced by a different company this time, this fourth installment of the movie is expected to be a blockbuster hit. Although it hasn't been confirmed yet, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair is said to hit theaters in 2016.
