Remedy Entertainment's video game and show Quantum Break will not be making any new announcements during the E3 or Electronic Entertainment Expo this year. The Xbox One game will be awaited instead during the Gamescom.
ON A BREAK
According to IGN, Remedy Entertainment's chief creative officer Sam Lake announced in a video as part of the company's upcoming 20th anniversary that Quantum Break will not be seen during the E3 2015 next week in Los Angeles. The Finland-based company have instead decided to bring the Microsoft-developed transmedia video and game show to the Gamescom in Cologne, Germany this August for a major blowout. Lake was quoted as saying that they will introduce a new material. He invited everybody to watch out for the exclusive Quantum Break demo. Remedy Entertainment was also at the said event last year which Lake described as fun. The said publisher earlier announced last April that Quantum Break's supposed release this year has been postponed to 2016.
Destructoid says Microsoft and Remedy did the same thing last year, skipping E3 in favor of a bigger stage. It also predicted that the game could be playable. Xbox head Phil Spencer promised that there will be a lot to watch out for in the upcoming game.
Quantum Break was first announced in 2013. Gearnuke reports the gameplay video was demonstrated lengthily on-stage during Microsoft's press conference. It featured time warp machines and a Max Payne-like third person shooter. More development is set to be revealed in the upcoming Gamescom.
Meanwhile, Remedy Entertainment's 20th anniversary will take place this coming fall. As part of their gratitude to its fans, Polygon reports that the company is looking for a super fanatic to join their celebration in Finland.
Updates on Quantum Break may not be at the E3 next week but its publisher and developer are making sure that something bigger awaits fans at the Gamescom a few months from now.
