'Ultra Street Fighter 4' PS4 Patch Released, Available Online; USFIV to Fix Glitches? Xbox 360 to be Used on EVO 2015

By

What do you know? Ultra Street Fighter 4 came up a bit short upon launch as various performance issues became apparent as most die-hard fans would know by now. Good thing after a joint collaboration wherein Japanese tech titan Sony worked with video game developer Capcom things are looking all sunny right now.

Lucky, patches are now available for the PS4 platform. In time. Unfortunately, in light of these glitches this year's Capcom Cup have to be played on Xbox 360.

In its very own Capcom-Unity blog the Japanese game master addressed the issues found with Ultra Street Fighter 4 on PS4. The company detailed a direct collaboration with Sony to investigate the depth of the problem and to resolve them.

As stated: "For those experiencing issues and wondering about a patch, we are aware that you are experiencing problems with the PS4 version of USFIV, which was published and developed by SCEA's Third Party Production group. SCEA and Capcom are currently looking into the issues that some users may be experiencing and are working to resolve them as quickly as possible. We will continue to provide updates on our progress."

Further, the site also reveal that said glitches will affect the upcoming Capcom Pro Tournament where the crown of the best Ultra Street Fighter 4 gamer in the whole wide world is at stake.

Reportedly, Capcom Cup organizers have made their adjustments. Even with Sony addressing the issues, EVO 2015 organizers are going on ahead with their plans to use Xbox 360 for the event happening on July 17-19.

Meaning: no PS4 on the Capcom Cup. Ugh! Sounds like many die-hard PlayStation gamers would cringe!

For the uninitiated, a slew of problems appear on PS4 upon the USFIV launch. One example is the Juri glitch where makes a copy of the lady fighter appear onscreen and another issue where her fireballs are nowhere to be seen. Same issues appear with Guile and his Sonic Boom.

Now for a bit of a jump for die-hard USFIV fans, Capcom is plugging the hole. The first official update for PlayStation 4 is available for USFIV, making good on their promise to fix the glitches. For details on the patch notes, please view them here.

Sure the glitches look like a false start, just temporary setback actually. Things should be back to a one heck of a gaming experience for Ultra Street Fighter IV loyalists.
