PlayStation 4 with 1TB Hard Drive is Sony's new improved gaming platform

By

Among gaming console manufacturers, Sony has probably been the only one in existence known to improve on its existing platforms since the original PlayStation. As a trend still in practice to this day, Sony are making another improvement on its current-gen gaming platform, the PlayStation 4 with 1 Tb hard drive.

According to the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) certificate as reported at DualShockers, Sony are currently already in the work with the development of an improved version of PlayStation 4. The new PlayStation 4 model will come in two variants -- model CUH-1215A and model CUH-1215B.

Coming from the same certificate that brought to light the information regarding this upcoming model of the home console, the CUH-1215A model will contain a 500 Gb hard drive capacity while the CUH-1215B model, on the other hand, will have a 1 Tb hard drive capacity as its storage, which expands on the existing hard drives on current PlayStation 4 units.

Seeing the relative difference between the two variants of the same model, the PlayStation 4 with 1 Tb hard drive unit will likely come at a price tag higher than its other variant.

Given the close semblance of the developing hardware is to the existing Sony game console, it is likely that this upcoming model will only be a bit different. In paper, the new PlayStation 4 models will also be built to generate less power as seen with the shift on the numbers in wattage -- from 250 W to 230 W - as well as the shift in amperage -- from 2.5-1.15 A to 2.3-0.95 A. Everything else as far as electricity is concerned, however, remains relatively the same, according to IGN.

Another notable difference seen between the existing model and the upcoming model, albeit subtly so, is the numbers on weight which makes the latter of the two lighter than its counterparts by at least 0.3 kilograms, mentioned by Gamespot.

Although this upcoming surprise by Sony may not give existing PlayStation 4 owners the reason to spend on the same unit with only these minimal changes that is barely different from the existing model, apart from the massive leapt in hard drive space, potential PlayStation 4 owners are more than likely to opt for the PlayStation 4 with 1 Tb hard drive unit should it get released.
