Last June 8, Bethesda Game Studios announced that a physical copy of Wolfenstein: The Old Blood will be available for retail next month. Now, players don't have to go through the process of downloading the game. (Which can be quite troublesome if your internet connection is slow)
Bethesda Game Studios posted in their blog that a CD Version of Wolfenstein: The Old Blood will be released next month, July 21, for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Players who were not able to download the game during its release will now be able to enjoy the gaming experience of Wolfenstein: The Old Blood.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is the stand-alone prequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order set in an alternate version of 1946. In the game, players will take on the role of B.J. Blazkowicz once more as he returns in The Old Blood for a two-part mission. Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves see the Nazi hunter break into Castle Wolfenstein to discover the location of Deathshead's compound. Meanwhile, Part Two, titled The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs, pits Blazkowicz against the undead.
Instead of releasing DLC for Wolfenstein: The New Order, Bethesda and MachineGames decided to release the prologue, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, as a standalone game. Although the game is a prologue to Wolfenstein: The New Order, there will be some new new weapons and new characters. Wolfenstein: The Old Blood uses most of the game mechanics of Wolfenstein: The New Order with tons of Nazis to kill and even some Zombie Nazis.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is a standalone game that is a prequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order and both games were developed by MachineGames. Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and can be downloaded online. The CD version of the game is to be released this coming July 21, 2015.
