Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 has been confirmed. Henry Simmons and Luke Mitchell now regular characters in the series which indicates that Season 3 might feature more Inhumans.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is up for a new season and this time we'll be seeing more of fan favorite Agent Mack, portrayed by Henry Simmons, and Lincoln Campbell, portrayed by Luke Mitchell. This is because the two have been promoted as regulars on the show!
Jeph Loeb, executive producer of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., explained in a statement that "Luke proved a valuable addition to our cast in Season 2, and after seeing him light up the screen with his charisma we knew we had to have him back for more."
Because of the promotion of Luke, people speculate that the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3 might focus more on the Inhumans. The third season might feature Secret Warriors, a group involving Inhumans and other superpowered beings working for S.H.I.E.L.D.
"We're playing with our little corner of the Inhuman universe, and this seems like a good way to expand it," shared executive producer Jeffrey Bell in an interview.
In another S.H.I.E.L.D. news, fans are wondering what Bobbi, portrayed by Adrianne Palicki, meant when she said "I can't do this anymore" in the finale of season 2. When Palicki was asked by Internation Business Times about the ambiguous line, she said, "Well, there was a potential spinoff situation that didn't end up happening."
The spin off Palicki was talking about was the planned spin off for her character and Hunter, portrayed by Nick Blood. Which didn't push through because the executive producers think the fan favorite characters is a big help to the S.H.I.E.L.D.'s storyline. As of now, Palicki doesn't know what will happen to her character in the show.
"I don't know where they're going to be this year. I don't know where everybody's going to go. They never tell us," said Palicki.
Jeff Bell, executive producer of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., teased the fans that two might go missing in the show for a while but will come back soon enough.
Bell said, "When she said, 'I can't do this anymore,' we intentionally made that very ambiguous. Does it mean her and Hunter, or does it mean SHIELD?"
"When they return, we expect to have great stories for them both as a couple and within the larger team, whether they're part of it or parallel. Twenty-two episodes makes for a long season, so there are opportunities to split people off and bring them back together," the executive producer added.
As of the moment, there's no announcement as to when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 will premiere but rumors say that it might be on the 3rd week of September this year.
