‘iZombie’ Season 2 Spoilers: Liv and Blaine to Work Together against an Enemy, ‘The Cure’ Has Side Effects; Second Season to Air Next Year

Fans of the television series "iZombie" has a lot to look forward to for the show's second season as executive producer Rob Thomas has revealed some details including the lead Liv and her enemy Blaine to work together as a team. In addition, Thomas also divulged that the zombie "cure" has side effects for both Major and Blaine.

The second season of "iZombie" has lots in store for its viewers as executive producer Rob Thomas dropped some details in a recent interview with TVLine. According to Thomas, protagonist Liv (Rose McIver) and her adversary and the show's main antagonist Blaine (David Anders) will be forced to work together against a common enemy Max Rager. Considering Blaine has done several awful things to Liv in season one, the next season will be promising.

Thomas added that it will be a big part of the season two. In a separate interview with Entertainment Weekly, the executive producer revealed that the "cure" that made Liv's ex-fiancé Major (Robert Buckley) and Blaine humans again will be having side effects. "I'm willing to tell you that much because I want there to be surprises, but yes, that cure is not perfect. There will absolutely be side effects," said Thomas.

Liv and Major aren't going to be in good terms in the next season, according to Thomas. The show will pick up few months after the season one finale and Major wouldn't still be happy with Liv as the story progresses.

And as a human again, Blaine is going to try to pass for a zombie for his clientele, for the fear that his fellow zombies will swarm him. "We already have a scene up on our writers' board in which we will see him getting powdered up in order to appear as a full-blooded zombie," told the executive producer during his interview with TVLine.

The season two of "iZombie" has been ordered 13 episodes to air next year but Thomas is hopeful that if the ratings will be favorable, it will be extended up to 22 episodes.

Thomas also sat with Collider to muse that maybe the first season of the hit The CW show is going on for a summer re-air.
