"The Spectacular Spider-Man" is a reboot of the first Spider Man films but the production for the spinoff is not yet in the works. However, latest reports reveal that there are two directors that the producers have narrowed down to.
Sony Pictures and Marvel have decided that "The Spectacular Spider-Man" could be directed by either Ted Melfi, the director of "St. Vincent" and Jonathan Levine of "Warm Bodies," as reported by Spiderman News. Although the two companies already revealed their top two, John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein are still in the mix.
According to the publication, another name is being thrown in and it's none other than Jon Watts of "Cop Car." Watts debuted his directorial skills in the said movie, which has garnered high praises.
Meanwhile, a comparison between the upcoming reboot and the past adaptations of the Spider-Man film has been published online. The reason being is that the teenager and hero Peter Parker had a lot of troubles that people usually deal with such as financial troubles, romance, angst, and strained friendships.
It is still not revealed if the movie will be having the same plot as the movie and the series and if he will be battling the renowned villains such as Doctor Octopus, the Sandman, Rhino, Venom, and the Green Goblin.
