The Incredibles director, Brad Bird says he has new plans for its' upcoming sequel The Incredibles 2, although he's aware of the challenges that he might have to go through in creating the film. Various theories emerge as to the possible plot for the sequel.
Bird, who wrote and directed the 2004 The Incredibles film said that he's currently making plans for the upcoming sequel. The director says he has both old and new ideas for The Incredibles 2, "Oh yeah I have pages, a bunch of pages. I had a lot of ideas for the original Incredibles that I didn't get a chance to use, that I like. I have ideas that I wanted to pursue a little bit and there wasn't enough time in Incredibles. There are new ideas I have, and I think there are enough of those together to make an interesting movie. I'm just focusing on getting Tomorrowland out into the world and playing with the Incredibles sandbox again." he said.
Since the original movie was released more than a decade ago, there is a challenge for Bird to accommodate the now older fans (given that the fans of the original film is now 10 years older), and at the same time cater to the younger ones. Aside from that, he also has to set The Incredibles 2 apart from other superhero movies, and a lot of them has been conquering the big screen these past few years.
No official cast for the characters' voices has been released yet, although actor Samuel L. Jackson who was the voice of Frozone in the original movie did express his interest in reprising the character.
Although nothing has been officially announced yet, various theories surfaced about possible plots for the movie. Rumors have it that a supervillain can potentially comeback in the sequel.
Aside from that, one theory says that a possible time jump can happen where Bob and Helen Parr (Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl) become fulltime parents while their kids, Violet, Dash, and Jack Jack do the superhero tasks.
Also, another theory suggests that the plot might be about the youngest child in the family, Jack Jack, being taken as an apprentice of one villain, while another suggests about Jack Jack's potential evilness.
The Incredibles 2 release date is still unknown, but more details about the movie are expected to be revealed later on.
