Tekken 7 Xbox One, PS4 versions to get more playable characters; Release announcement possible at EVO, Unreal 4 Engine makes PC launch more plausible

Gaming fans and pundits alike are anticipating the release announcement of Tekken 7 to Xbox One, PS4 at the EVO 2015 Tournament in Las Vegas this July where the new brawler game is among the titles to be showcased at the event.

According to Gospel Herald, director Katsuhiro Harada has revealed apart from the four new characters added to Tekken 7, additional fighters will be joining the roster by the time that the console versions for PS4 and Xbox One will be out in the market.

Harada was quoted as saying, "By the way, currently, we have four new characters, but later on we'll continue to add them through updates, so look forward to it. We don't plan on reducing the number of characters, so yes, we're thinking of adding more."

The arcade version that was released last March have brought in Jin Kazama, Devil Jin, Paul Phoenix, Yoshimitsu and the newest character, Jack-7.

In earlier reports, it has already been known that the latest installment to the Tekken franchise use the Unreal Engine 4 technology that is suitable for the creation of PC version. Harada previously suggested, "We are considering a PC version for certain countries that prefer or need to play on PC."

Meanwhile, some fans are not pleased with the Tekken 7 costume designs for the game characters which prompted the game director to respond to the criticism.

Tekken 7 game director and chief producer Katsuhiro Harada has defended the costume design for the characters in the game from the fans' criticism where some say that they feel that some characters look odd and other fans are a bit annoyed that the costumes have looked the same for many characters. The biggest annoyance is the character of Asuka Kazama who has had the same outfit since Tekken 5.

Katsuhiro Harada responded to the criticisms on Twitter, saying :
"Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Akira, Pai...Something new? It's branding & TEKKEN has costume customize system. That's all."

The thing about Tekken 7 is that the story takes place with a little time gap after Tekken 5 and Tekken 6. In the game's storyline, it's only been a year or so, so in appearance the characters would't have aged that much and there would be a negligible change in outfit. But in real life there is a huge gap, which is 10 years, so the fans' complaints are understandable.

But as Harada explained, because of the lack of new costumes in Tekken 7, fans are still able to customize the looks of their favorite characters.

Tekken 7 is a hit on Japanese arcades, which is also expected to hit systems such as Playstation 4 and Xbox One, but no official release announcement has been made yet.

Mark "MarkMan" Julio and the Mad Catz crew have been traveling to various events to promote the game to North American fans.

Fans can hope to hear more about the Tekken 7 characters and the North American release to PS4, Xbox One consoles either at E3 2015 or later in July at EVO Tournament in Las Vegas.
