The lead writer on Tom Clancy's The Division is reported to have left Massive Entertainment and some critics are worried that her departure will be felt in the game's narrative, voices, dialogue and cutscenes.
Movie Pilot reported yesterday that Meghan Watt, the lead narrative writer for Tom Clancy's The Division for almost five years has resigned according to her Twitter and LinkedIn account. It is said that that as a lead writer in Massive Entertainment, she was in-charge of tremendous amount of work for The Division.
It is said in the report Watt's control over the project cannot be denied that her departure will internally affect the game's development. Her influence, as well as her absence, will undoubtedly be felt on Tom Clancy's The Division's release date.
It is unclear though if the delay of the release date is related to Watt's departure because the news of the game's release moved to 2016 came a month prior to the news of her resignation.
If recalled, the originally 2015 release window of Tom Clancy's The Division is now scheduled on the first quarter of 2016 - that is between between January and April of next year.
CEO Yves Guillemot justified the delay stating that "an RPG online game...take more time to be completed."
"We want to make sure we have enough feedback from consumers from alpha and betas to polish it as much as possible before the launch. So that it comes to the market with the best experience possible," added Guillemot.
Tom Clancy's The Division could really be a massive game that Ubisoft recently recruited another developer, Ubisoft Annecy, to help them develop the game making it a total of four studios working for The Division right now.
But fans can expect more gameplay details and announcement as the developer promised to show more at E3 next week.
