Star Wars Rebels Season 2 is just around the corner and fans of the franchise are very excited to watch it again on television. Disney XD teases the fans on what is in store for them in the upcoming season through their latest trailer release.
The teaser trailer is a 30 seconds long video and obviously just a tiny piece of the doubled length of a standard-issue episode of the Disney XD series. The season 2 will have a one-hour special.
The teaser trailer shows Darth Vader dispatched to Lothal, home planet of Ezra, to fight off with the freedom fighters who killed The Inquisitor and the destruction of The Sovereign, Grand Moff Tarkin's flagship Star Destroyer.
Vader is preparing for the Siege of Lothal, one of the big story arc in the series. The trailer focuses on Darth Vader as the main antagonist of Star Wars Rebels Season 2. Alongside Darth Vader as a villain is Tarkin, who, basing on the trailers, seems to be the lead of Lothal.
From this latest trailer, it would seem that the second season of Star Wars Rebels will have a more serious and darker tone. The last scene in the trailer is Kanan preparing to battle against Darth Vader. This is said to be the climax of the first episode of Star Wars Rebels Season 2.
On the behind the scenes news, Sarah Michelle Gellar is the latest addition to the voice actors of the series. Other voice actors are James Earl Jones as Darth Vader, Vanessa Marshall as Hera Syndulla, Freddie Prinze Jr. as Kanan Jarrus, Steve Blum as Zeb Orrelios, Taylor Gray as Ezra Bridger, Tiya Sircar as Sabine Wren and others.
