After a long wait, "Beauty and the Beast" diehards can finally see for themselves where the third season picks up and the new life of Catherine and Vincent after the events in the season 2 finale. Stars of the show, Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan, both hinted the new threat this season but they also mentioned larger, personal issues for Catherine and Vincent.
As what previously reported, "Beauty and the Beast" season 3 will try to focus on Catherine and Vincent's relationship as a "normal" couple. Since the central couple's romantic affair will be highlighted this season, their personal lives will be challenged inevitably.
In an interview with TVLine, Jay Ryan hints important intel about how "Beauty and the Beast" season 3 will work out. The 33-year-old actor said that his character will be dealing with anxiety as he tries to live normally with the love of his life. Vincent will eventually realize that Catherine is not really going for normalcy.
"He's on this happy plateau, but he realizes that that doesn't work for her," said Ryan. "It pushes him to a point where he feels so affected and hurt that Catherine wants him to continue to "unleash the beast," it creates a bit of an anxiety in him, a bit of vulnerability."
Kristin Kreuk also mentioned the struggles that Catherine and Vincent will face as a couple in her interview with IGN. The two will not be on the same wavelength when it comes to dealing with the new threat in the world.
"She believes it's their responsibility and their destiny to do so. Vincent just wants to be a couple, be a doctor, hang out at home, doesn't want to deal with it." Kreuk continues, "So they're in that kind of conflict but it's also propelling their relationship forward at the same time.
Aside from her struggle as Vincent's beau, Catherine's profession will also be put to risk as her past haunts her in the new season of "Beauty and the Beast."
Fans of The CW's hit fantasy series will surely have a lot to chew on once "Beauty and the Beast" season 3 returns. Catherine and Vincent will be bombarded with challenges as a couple and individuals as they try to live normally.
