Season 2 of "The Returned" is not yet confirmed if it will be airing soon as it is rumored that there is still a chance that the A&E show will be cancelled. According to Executive Producer Carlton Cuse, he is still hopeful that there will still be a renewal of the show but did not mention when the announcement will happen.
"The Returned" season 2 needs to happen as fans are asking for answers from the finale episode of the first season. Season 1's finale episode left a lot of cliffhangers from the show and issues that need answers. It only had ten episodes and had low ratings although there is a reasonable amount of fan base that wants the show to have a renewal as reported by Ecumenical News.
However, Netflix struck a deal with the producers of "The Returned" so the ten episodes from season 1 will be launched as a Netflix original. The streaming was launched back in March and it was available to regions outside the United States and Canada. This means that A&E could not just base the renewal of the show with the ratings of the series as it has a huge Netflix audience.
Some of the questions from the season 1 of "The Returned" are what will happen if Helen, played by Michelle Forbes, continues to blow up the dam? How will Tommy, played by Kevin Alejandro, react once he knows who the real father of Rowan's baby is. Will Adam, played by Rhys Ward, finally be held responsible for his crimes and will Victor, played by Dylan Kingwell, return for the second seas? Why are characters coming back from the dead and which characters are also still dead?
"The Returned" is a remake of "Les Revenants" and it is basically about long-dead people reappearing again in the small town although it does not have anything to do with zombies.
It is still unclear if the second season of "The Returned" will be given the go signal. What do you guys think? Do you think there should be a second season of the show?
