"The X Files" revival is really happening. After a series of photos posted by Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny via their social media accounts, an official set photo was released just recently to prove that Mulder and Scully are back together to solve new cases and maybe some from the past.
FOX's "The X-Files" reboot will see Special Agents Dana Scully and Fox Mulder working on strange cases again. The Hollywood Reporter said that the show will return for six episodes that are a combination of "case of the week" format and a deeper take into the show's unresolved mythology.
It has been 13 years since "X-Files" season 9 concluded so Mulder and Scully will surely discover arrays of bizarre cases these days. However, as THR also noted, there are a couple of unresolved cases from the past that could resurface in the reboot.
One of these is the vampire-related case that the special agents tried to solve in the fifth season's episode titled, "Bad Blood." Written by "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul" co-creator Vince Gilligan, the episode took Mulder and Scully in a town that turned out to be filled with vampires. After the two thought that they have already caught the suspect, they went back to the town without knowing about the real nature of its residents. They were drugged before the entire town move to another town.
"Bad Blood" is considered as one of the remarkable "X-Files" episodes despite Mulder and Scully's failure to really solve the vampire case. Perhaps in the reboot, they will be able to track the town where the vampires transferred into.
And to make the "X-Files" cry in anticipation, the show's official Twitter account has posted a set photo that shows Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny inside a car, seemingly a little distant from each other, reports AV Club.
Previously, both Anderson and Duchovny have teased the "X-Files" fans with their individual snaps posted on their social media accounts, which reveal the show's filming location. FOX's rebooted show kicked off production in Vancouver last Monday for an early 2016 premiere, as per The Vancouver Sun's report.
Dana Scully and Fox Mulder will definitely discover whole new different and odd cases in the "The X-File" reboot but they could also revisit their unresolved cases and close them when the show returns January 24, 2016 on FOX.
Which unfinished cases from the past do you want Mulder and Scully to revisit? Write them all down on the comments section below.
