Following the reports that the new drama "Supergirl" will be airing on CBS this October 26, Monday, CBS has also released a new poster to continue to market the said series. The DC Comics adaptation will be featuring Melissa Benoist's Kara Zor-El to star in the upcoming show.
The photo that made rounds online regarding "Supergirl" was a resized version of the banner that was released by CBS last month but it still caused a lot of hype. The poster shows the known Superman logo and Supergirl up in the air but her face is not that clear as it aims to give a mysterious vibe for the show. The star poses in a silhouette in front of the icon as she shows that she is a hero, Flickering Myth reports.
The show will reportedly be about a girl named Kara Zor-El. She was born on the planet of Krypton and escaped the planet after it was destroyed years ago. She then arrived on earth as she went into hiding in order to conceal her powers that her cousin Superman also possesses. However, at the age of 24, she will be embracing her superhuman powers and be the hero she is meant to be as she will be fighting a lot of crimes.
In another report by We Got This Covered, the publication pointed out that Kara will be taken care of by a foster family and her foster sister, Alex, has overshadowed her all these years that she was with them. Melissa Benoist will be starring alongside Chyler Leigh from "Grey's Anatomy", Calista Flockhart, Laura Benanti of "Nashville", David Harewood, Mechad Brooks, Jeremy Jordan, Owain Yeoman, Faran Tahir, and Dean Cain from "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman."
"Supergirl's" pilot screening will also be showed at the Comic Con 2015 on July 8 alongside other shows such as "Blindspot," "Containment," and "Lucifer."
