Marge and Homer Simpson have always been regarded as one of TV's most iconic couples. Now in the upcoming season of The Simpsons, is there trouble in paradise for the couple?
According to a report with Variety, The Simpsons producer Al Jean teased that Marge and Homer Simpson will indeed be encountering some troubles with their marriage. Jean revealed that Homer will be dealing with his narcolepsy that will cause a strain in their marriage. This would cause the married couple to "legally separate" in the season premiere this coming September.
"In the premiere, it's discovered after all the years Homer has narcolepsy and it's an incredible strain on the marriage," Jean said in the interview.
The Simpsons Season 27 Spoilers also teased that Homer will be falling in love with his pharmacist, voiced by Lena Dunham. Though Homer and Marge have been known to encounter some problems in their marriage in the previous seasons, it looks like Dunham's character would pose to be a threat to the couple's marital life.
A lot of fans were outraged when news of the TV couple's separation went viral online. While Jean has not revealed how long the said separation will last, it is assumed that it won't last long. Apparently a lot of fans misinterpreted the message and resulted in a horrible Twitter war. Al Jean was quick to repair the damage by posting "I DIDN'T SAY Homer and Marge are breaking up I said they are BIGGER THAN JESUS." on his Twitter page.
On The Simpsons official Facebook page, a photo of Bart Simpson writing the words: "Homer and Marge are not breaking up." was posted in attempts to clear up the nasty rumors. The show's official Twitter page also urged fans to "RT and stop the rumors!"
Jean also recently teased that Sideshow Bob will finally succeed in murdering Bart Simpson in the upcoming Halloween special, "Treehouse of Horrors". He also added that several 'Girls' characters will be making their cameos in the upcoming season premiere.
The Simpsons returns to Fox on September 27.
