Assassins Creed movie is set to start filming in September, while Ex Machina actress Alicia Vikander currently in talks to join the cast. A new poster for the movie has also been released recently.
Assassins Creed is soon to start filming after its pre-production stage. Michael Fassbender who is not only one of the actors for the movie, but is also one of its producers was asked about the delays in making the movie, to which he responded saying, "You say it's a long time but what I've found-it's all new to me but starting to develop scripts and work on them, they take time. It just takes time to get a good story together and we really want to do it right. It's exciting. It's going to start this year, we'll be filming in September."
Aside from Fassbender, The Dark Knight Rises actress Marion Cotillard has also been casted for the film. Meanwhile, actress Alicia Vikander is said to be in talks to join the cast. But aside from Assassins Creed, she is also being considered for a role in the upcoming Bourne 5 movie to be directed by Paul Greengrass. And like Assassins Creed, it will also be released next year.
A poster for the movie has been released for the upcoming Licensing Expo. But unfortunately, it doesn't say much about the official plot. In fact, it shows a huge bird, presumably an eagle with the words 'Assassins Creed The Movie', and 'In Theaters 12-21-16'. Hopefully, more details about the movie will be released soon.
No official plot about the movie has been released yet, but a user in IMDB wrote a synopsis which reads: "A bartender, Desmond Miles, is kidnapped by an organization called Abstergo Industries due to his assassin lineage. Abstergo uses a device called the Animus to make him relive the memories of his ancestors so that they might find the locations of artifacts called the Pieces of Eden.
The Pieces of Eden are powerful tools surviving from an advanced civilization which Abstergo intends to collect in order to control the world. After reliving the memories of his ancestor, Altair, Desmond is rescued by a fellow assassin working undercover for Abstergo. After being rescued, Desmond begins working with a small team of assassins with their own animus, who are working agains Abstergo in hopes to keep them from retrieving the final Pieces of Eden and saving the world."
Assassins Creed will be directed by Justin Kurzel (Macbeth), and written by Bill Collage, Adam Cooper, and Michael Lesslie. It is slated for release in December 21, 2016.
