Peter Sarsgaard to join the cast of the upcoming film, Magnificent Seven, while Jason Momoa has left the film. The upcoming film, will be a remake of the 1960 original film.
Black Mass actor Peter Saarsgard is set to play the villain in Magnificent Seven. He is to play the role of Bartholomew Bogue, a robber baron who heads the outlaws who took over the town. If he ever lands the role, he will be starring the movie with actors Denzell Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio, Haley Bennett, Wagner Moura, Byung-Hun Lee, and Matt Bomer.
Meanwhile, Jason Momoa has reportedly left the cast, due to conflicts in his schedule. Momoa is set to play the role of Aquaman, who will appear in Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice, aside from that, he will also be in Justice League Part 1.
Saarsgard will probably nail the role as the baron as he was said to have received positive reviews for films Pawn Sacrifice and The Expirementer.
This upcoming movie will be a remake of the 1960 film, which was reportedly a remake of Akira Kurosawa's "The Seven Samurai", which starred Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen.
Magnificent Seven's plot will be about a group of gunslingers who was hired by a woman to protect the town that was seized by the robber baron. Matt Bomer is said to be playing the role of the woman's husband, who tries to fight the baron.
Nic Pizzolato wrote the first draft of the film and which was later revised by John Lee Hancock. Roger Birnbaum and Todd Black will be the film's producers, while Antione Fuqua and Walter Mirisch will be its executive producers. Fuqua will also be the film's director.
Both Sony and MGM will make the film possible, and they reportedly split the cost, as Sony will be the one to do the distribution and MGM will oversee the film's production.
The film is slated for release in January 13, 2017.
