F(x) Victoria Defends SM Entertainment from Contract Termination Rumors; Launches Own Workshop in China

F(x) girl group member Victoria recently denied the rumors that she is planning to terminate her contract with SM Entertainment.

The agency previously denied the rumors immediately after the news came out on May 30 from Chinese tabloids. A representative from the company stated, "Victoria has never requested a cancellation of her contract. The rumors are not at all true, and she is not thinking of leaving SM Entertainment."

Recently, while promoting her latest Chinese drama "Beautiful Secret" in Shanghai, the girl group leader supported SM Entertainment's statement saying, "I have never thought of annulling my contract with my agency."

The singer-actress also expressed her gratitude to the company rooting to the day they gave her a business card for audition while she was just a student.

"The agency discovered me and raised me. With me being a foreigner in Korea, everyone took good care of me and I was very grateful to the agency."

Victoria also addressed the workshop that the agency has newly provided for her activities in China.

"I've been able to prepare my workshop and I will soon put together my staff. The agency has always supported me in my Chinese activities. I'll be able to work in Korea and have more activities in China at the same time. I hope you all will support me."

The said personal workshop is part of the localization of business that the agency has first started with EXO's Chinese member Lay. The company maintained that the studio is still managed under SM Entertainment that was created to support their artists' individuality.

Meanwhile, Korean fans are praising Victoria for her loyalty in the company in comparison with EXO Chinese members Kris (Wu Yifan), Luhan, and Tao who left the group. The Korean audience is in extreme distaste to all Chinese members of EXO including Lay who has not left the group.

Some of the comments were, "Victoria... is a lot more trustworthy than those Chinese boys. Way better than those kids who sell themselves to greed just because their face is a bit known," "Victoria is on a different level from those EXO Chinese members," and "I respect her so much for being so straightforward with her answer instead of beating around the bush."

Victoria is currently busy with her drama in China and her workshop. With fellow member Sulli's return after hiatus from F(x), it is possible that the group will push through their postponed repackaged album before the last quarter of this year.
