The Equalizer 2 movie is set to be released in 2017. Denzel Washington will reprise his role in the said sequel as a retired CIA member where his adventure continues.

Four years after The Equalizer was shown in theatres, the movie's sequel has been slated by Sony to be released on September 29, 2017. Variety, confirmed that Denzel Washington will still star as The Equalizer, based on the 1980 CBS TV series of the same title. The Equalizer prequel was shown in 2014 hat debuted at the Toronto Film Festival and raked $192 million worldwide.
In the rated-R prequel, according to Coming Soon, Denzel Washington plays as Robert McCall, a former black ops commando who chooses to live a private life in Boston by faking his death. However, there comes a time when he has to rescue a young prostitute (played by Chloe Grace Moretz), where he meets vicious Russian gangsters. McCall is left with no choice but to help bring justice to the oppressed, as the title says.
Slash Film says there is no announcement yet if Chloe Moretz as well as other cast of the prequel such as Bill Pullman, Marton Csokas and Melissa Leo will reprise their roles. The Equalizer Part 1 was written by Richard Wenk, produced by Escape Artists, co-financed by Village Roadshow that had an overall budget of $55 million.
REUNION
Meanwhile, Screen Crush confirms that Antoine Fuqua will still direct the action-packed thriller which will tackle about the ongoing exploits of McCall who is gifted with specific skills. However, he does not want to use them after having retired from the CIA. McCall though is left with no choice because he has to save people. Fuqua and Washington who also worked together in Training Day are currently working on another film, a remake of The Magnificent Seven.
The Equalizer 2 will be among the action movies that should not be missed two years from now.
