Valve has announced "DoTA 2: Reborn Beta" and they also announced that it brings with it a new interface, new engine and Custom Games. Source 2, the new engine, was announced in May. "DoTA 2: Reborn" is also the first official game that Valve has developed on the new engine. "DoTA 2: Reborn" will be made available first as a beta, separate from the original game.
Valve had just recently announced their expansive update of the widely-popular "MOBA: DoTA 2." The highly anticipated Dota 2 Reborn update will include a new engine, new UI and a whole lot of new features to enjoy. According to Valve in a statement released via blogpost: "Everything in the dashboard has been completely redesigned utilizing a new UI framework, and the engine that powers the game has been fully replaced."
Additionally, Valve stated that "Throughout the beta we'll be releasing frequent updates in order to fix bugs and make changes based on the feedback you provide. As you browse around in the new client, you'll notice a few things that aren't fully functional yet. Additionally, our focus has been on the dashboard so you'll find the in-game HUD currently looks the same."
Since "DoTA 2: Reborn" will be first available as a beta as reported by The Escapist Magazine. Fans of the game can check out the newly added and updated features in the beta including custom games and a fully revamped tutorial.
Valve also emphasized that there will be constant feature updates and bug fixes. All the new and big additions to the game are a truly drastic update for "Dota 2" because the major changes are indeed focused in on individual heroes and not the engine.
The release of a separate beta is also a smart move because as we know, tweaking the core game would lead to unavoidable arguments. With the beta, major changes can be implemented across the entire game before the official game is released.
The separate beta would be launched the week of June 29th, 2015.
