Kong: Skull Island movie is in the works, as it is said to be the prequel of other previous King Kong movies. Actor Tom Hiddleston, who will be one of the main characters in the movie has been reported to have started preparing for his role.
The upcoming King Kong movie, 'Kong: Skull Island' will soon hit theaters, as it will discuss the origins of the famous Ape monster. It was reported to be set in the 1970s in Detroit.
Actor JK Simmons spilled this information in an interview saying, "When it first came to my attention, 'There's interest in you for a new King Kong,' I thought, 'Okay, why? I met with Jordan Vogt-Roberts who's going to be directing it, and John Gatins who's gonna be writing, and Tom [Hiddleston]-Jordan was just so passionate and so smart and there's such an interesting new take on it, and it's set in Detroit in 1971 which is where I grew up, and we're gonna shoot in Detroit during baseball season and I'll be able to go to Tigers games, so there's a lot to like about this movie."
Many speculate that the movie might contain a series of flashbacks, given that it will be a prequel of the other King Kong movies, and also the fact that the character died in the 1930s.
Kong: Skull Island's plot will be about a group explorers who goes deep within the home of King Kong. Part of its synopsis reads, "Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) and written by John Gatins (Flight) and Max Borenstein (Godzilla), "Kong: Skull Island" will fully immerse audiences in the mysterious and dangerous home of the king of the apes as a team of explorers ventures deep inside the treacherous, primordial island. Legendary's story honors the foundations of existing King Kong lore, but places it in an entirely new, distinct timeline."
Reports say that the film will include an infamous chemical company, and it will reportedly explain how King Kong reached its gigantic size.
Meanwhile, Tom Hiddleston, who has signed on for the film along with actors Michael Keaton and JK Simmons, has been reported to be "actively gearing up" for his role in the movie.
He previously expressed his excited for the film describing director Jordan Vogt-Roberts' story as epic and fresh saying, "His story which I know he hasn't revealed to anyone yet is 'King Kong' you've never seen before, and it's very ambitious and epic and fresh and new in his vision and design and the characters are amazing. The chance to work with legendary again, who made 'Crimson Peak,' and I love what they did with 'Godzilla,' there are number of things, but it's more of working with Jordan particularly, his idea is amazing and the story and the script and the studio so yeah, it's a very easy yes."
Kong: Skull Island's screenplay will be by John Gatins, and script by Max Borenstein. As mentioned above, the movie will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts. Kong: Skull Island is set to hit theaters in March 10, 2017.
