While it has been confirmed that the identity of Star Lord's father will be revealed in the Guardians of the Galaxy 2, actor Chris Pratt says he knows who he is, but he's not gonna reveal it. The movie's director, James Gunn shared that the first draft of the film has already been finished.
Star Lord's relationship with his mom was no secret in the first instalment of the movie Guardians of the Galaxy, and many hearts were probably touched by the fact that Star Lord has been keeping his Walkman with the Awesome Mix Tape No. 1 in it, as probably the thing that he treasures the most. But everything about Star Lord's father is still a blur up until now.
Reports say that his identity will be revealed in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, but actor Chris Pratt teased that he knows about Star Lord's father, and said that James Gunn shared the details to him and it reportedly put tears in his eyes.
"His pitch and his idea legitimately put tears in my eyes it is so good. I cannot wait to get started on it and I cannot wait for people to se what he's going to pull off with his second movie. It's so big and so good." Pratt said.
He also added Marvel was so happy with his ideas that he didn't give him notes for it, "From what I understand they heard it at Marvel and they said nothing. They were like, "Perfect." No micro-managing of the idea, they just loved it so much that they didn't have a note for it. It's going to be remarkable." He said.
Meanwhile, James Gunn recently shared a picture of the first draft for the film in his twitter account. Unfortunately (or fortunately, actually) he didn't reveal anything, not even the film's title, and let alone hints for the plot. Well, the most fans can get from it is the assurance that the sequel of their beloved movie is now in the works, and is in fact progressing.
Although nothing much has been revealed about the film yet, Gunn has also been kind enough to let the fans know about what not to expect from the film. When asked about whether or not Shia'ar Empire or Kang The Conqueror will appear, Gunn immediately cleared that neither of them are going to make it to any of the films.
He replied to the question saying, "Shi'ar and Kang are both owned by Fox. All decisions about who is in GotG2 were made a long time ago." Well, them in the MCU would've added colors to the universe given that they would've been very exciting opponents for the heroes, but Guardians of the Galaxy will still probably good without them.
The main characters will reportedly probably be back for Guardians of the Galaxy 2. It is slated for release in May 5, 2017.
