George R.R. Martin is still finishing The Winds of Winter. According to reports, he aims to complete the 6th installment of A Song of Ice and Fire before the new season of the TV series airs next year. He has already turned down a number of invitations and is now asking the fans to stop emailing him so he could already wrap up the highly - awaited book. However, rumor has it that the well-known author will have new projects on the way.

According to Ecumenical News, George R.R. Martin is targeting to finish the entire Winds of Winter before the 6th season of Game of Thrones. This is exactly the reason he has declined a number of engagements to focus on his work. In addition, he also stopped writing for the said TV series which implies that he is freeing his time for the 6th installment. He also asked his fans to stop sending him emails specially those who are off-topic as it also eats up his time. George R.R. Martin advised these fans that if they have questions about spoilers, they should be sending those to community sites like 'Tower of the Hand'.

As Kpopstarz reported, George R.R. Martin will be very busy in the upcoming months. Apart from The Winds of Winter, he is said to be working with HBO and Cinemax to create new concepts for the networks' upcoming shows. He is also about to leave for Europe as he will attend some events which apparently, he was not able to turn down. One of these events will have him as the Guest of Honor.

Even when Game of Thrones season 5 has already finished, the author shared that the fans shouldn't worry because it will not affect the flow of the book. His vision on The Winds of Winter will remain the same regardless of the plot seen in HBO.
