Apple releases PowerBeats 2, Beats new wireless headphone, one year after its acquisition of Beats. For almost $3 billion, Apple bought out Beats to increase its hardware portfolio and have access to the company's music industry knowledge via its streaming service.
As a quality music product, Beats headphone makes an ideal addition to Apple's store. It will also help bring attention to Apple's products given that there are many celebrities that own their brands of Beats headphones.
Colors
Apple's PowerBeats 2 headphones come in color options that match those of Apple watch. Hence, the wireless headphone's new colors include black, blue, pink, green, and white. Like the Apple Watch, these come in a hefty price of $199.95. It is currently available only in Apple stores, but it will soon be available from select Apple retailers.
Compatible Devices
Blutooth connectivity also makes PowerBeats 2 ideal for pairing with mobile devices like iPad and iPhone, and other Bluetooth-equipped gadgets like laptops and desktops, besides Apple Watch. "Apple promises a 30-foot range, with 6 hours of battery life in between charges."
As such, Powerbeats 2 will definitely not be exclusive to Apple Watch alone. 9to5Mac reported that Apple's new wireless headset will work with all Apple and other Bluetooth 4 devices.
Apple Music
Apple's newly launched music streaming service is also based on Beats Music. Its elements are based on Beats music streaming service, but Apple's design brand rules. Its look is thus a reminiscent of iTune's design, with one or two Beats elements included for good measure.
At first glance, it's like other music services out there which isn't unexpected. On a closer look, it is a relatively simple app that looks certainly like other pre-bundled iOS apps.
Former Beats executive Jimmy Iovine introduced Apple Music at the WWDC conference, where Apple's new music streaming was introduced. It has been reported that Apple was using Iovine's connection in the music industry to attract support from established artists.
With Apple's Powerbeats 2 wireless headphones now available, the brand's supporters can expect to see more continuity between Apple devices and Beats devices. The same can be assumed with Apple Music now that its rolling out its plans after the acquision of Beats Music and Beats Electronics.
