Super Smash Bros creator Masahiro Sakurai has officially released new DLC for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U in a video presentation which highlights two new playable characters: iconic Street Fighter® Ryu, and Fire Emblem's Roy. The paid content is available for download, alongside major software updates for both the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U systems.

The official video presentation that features exclusive inside look at the new downloadable content for the new edition of Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U is up on Nintendo's Official E3 website, along with a few updates on big reveals for Nintendo's E3 this year. Nintendo has been on the road leading up to the biggest gaming expo of the year with their successive teasers, from the Nintendo World Championships 2015 to the exclusive inside look through the Nintendo Treehouse.

The exclusive DLC for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U features a first in the history of Super Smash Bros. SmashBros Official website reveals Ryu as the first official Street Fighter character to cross over to the Super Smash Bros metagaming world. Super Smash Bros takes the specifics of Ryu's appearance from Street Fighter II ®. True to Super Smash Bros form, Ryu's signature Hadoken and Shoryuken can be used with the click of a button, but using the original command line for Ryu's signature moves will increase the strength of the attacks.

Fire Emblem's Roy also makes for another favorable addition to the Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U as revealed by Nintendo. A fan favorite from his last appearance in Super Smash Bros Melee for the Nintendo GameCube, Roy returns with a new look, new sword, and a new Final Move. In addition to Ryu and Roy, the DLC update also features a wide range of updates such as new arenas, new Mii fighter costumes, and bonus trophies.

Players can purchase the DLC in its entirety or by individual packs. The whole DLC pack for Nintendo 3DS or Wii U is about $22, and can be purchased for both game versions for $30.
