Well, for 19 Kids and Counting, this could be the best time to get aired. Like any monumental flick (e.g., Jurassic World), chances are some twists in the plot is bound to come to surface. While the Duggars are still expanding with a new baby upcoming via daughter Jessa Duggar-Sewald, the press is still having a field day on the Josh Duggar controversy.
The question is what's keeping TLC? Should it not expand the series like any series would - Keeping Up with the Kardashians, GoT and The Walking Dead for instance?
As reported, Jessa Duggar-Sewald is expecting and she's almost there, about halfway through her pregnancy. Making public her not-so-private life, the "19 Kids and Counting" reality star announced last Sunday that she's already in the 20th week of her pregnancy. Topping her excitement for her first baby with hubby Ben Sewald, the expectant mother shared a sonogram video of her baby.
And moving to the tune of Andrew Peterson's "World Traveler" tune, Baby Sewald was seen moving its head, mouth and hand. Imbuing every 19 Kids fan with excitement. Proud mommy Jessa even posted a selfie with hashtag "#BabySeewald #20Weeks," sharing to the world her baby bump.
As these developments are brought to light, once again the rumor mill is churning like never before. One question which has propped before has revisited many loyalty following's mind: Will TLC do a spin-off series based on the expansion of the Duggar bloodline?
Well, it appears, the network is still in shock mode after the May 22 confirmation by parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar of their son Josh ever-so-naughty growing up escapades.
Sure, it has expressed its understanding of the matter saying: "We are deeply saddened and troubled by this heartbreaking situation" after pulling the plug on the show. Momentarily? Perhaps.
However, TLC's no-comment strategy on the alleged sexual molestation incidents are making a lot of people apprehensive. One crisis manager Judy Smith, long-time inspiration for the "Scandal" series, confirms these frustrations saying: "that's a really long time to be quiet."
But numbers could be in the Duggars' side being a staple for TLC since 2008. To note, last October's wedding episode of the 19 Kids series rose to the top of the heap as the network's highest rating in four years.
That should make all fanboys and girls smile. Perhaps a spin-off series is the best answer to this dilemma of sorts. As many know very well, time heals all wounds. In time, "19 Kids and Counting"will shine again.
