‘Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll’ premieres this July with Elizabeth Gillies on the spotlight; The former Nickelodeon star reveals liberating role

A new series by FX entitled "Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll" will be hitting your T.V. screens this coming July 16 at ten in the evening on FX and it will be about Johnny Rock, played by Denis Leary, trying to put his life back together. One of the stars of the show, Elizabeth Gillies, also recently talked about her role as very liberating in the show in a recent interview.

Denis Leary will be Johnny Rock starring alongside Elizabeth Gillies, the daughter of Leary, Bobby Kelly, and Elaine Hendrix. Leary has partnered with Jim Serpico in order to make "Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll" happen. The series has been produced by FX Productions and Fox 21 Television Studios. The series will be basically filmed in New York City, Monster & Critics reported.

Denis Leary's character will be teaming up with John Corbett's Flash as part of the band The Heathens. Gillies will be playing the role of Gigi who is the lead singer of the band The Assassins. It will be a comedic series and it will be about the journey of the rocker who wants to turn his life around as he has always been an ambitious rocker despite his age, Entertainment Weekly Reported.

In a recent interview with Elizabeth Gillies, she also talked about being a Nickelodeon star before and now she has ventured into something much different to what she used to do. Gillies formerly played the role of Jade in the hit Nickelodeon show "Victorious."

Gillies shared with People that the best part of the show for her is the great music and the great comedy adding that the cast is just brilliant. She continues, "But it's about a dysfunctional family and just the most extreme characters coming together and arguing and fighting and coexisting, and there's this musical element that makes it all a little bit crazier."

The 21-year-old actress also noted that her role in "Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll" was perfect for her as when she read the script, she saw herself in the character of Gigi. She added that her role is fun, cool, and very liberating.
