Chris Pratt on 'Jurassic World 2' Confirmed; Sequel Spoilers, Film Box Office Hit Exposed

By

Chris Pratt's on 'Jurassic World 2' sequel! The iconic actor's everywhere these days with Jurassic World in full swing in theaters worldwide. And as many in this side of the Planet would have known by now, the fourth installment in the Jurassic Park franchise just broke the record as the first film ever in the history of cinema to cross the $500 million mark in its first weekend.

In hindsight, the dinosaur-centric flick topped all the Avenger movies' and spin-offs first week-end performance. Globally that is. Marvel, in an act of professional courtesy, sent congratulatory messages to 'Jurassic World' for breaking the box-office record long held by the valiant group of superheroes. Touché!

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Chris Pratt confirmed that he is to reprise his role as dinosaur trainer Owen Grady. To the point, the 35-year old actor from Minnesotta detailed after being scrutinized for future involvement in the Steven Spielberg-started franchise: "I am. They have me for I think 38 movies or something."

Wow! That is simply mind-blowing - enough to cause a lot of churning in the rumor mill these days and straight from the mouth of the Guardians of the Galaxy star. Not one but 38 movies. That's a lot.

So it's pretty set, the Colin Trevorrow-directed flick is getting its next iteration which in most likelihood will be titled as "Jurassic World 2."

To note, Jurassic World raked in approximately $204.5 million in the US for a total of $549.5 box-office sales in its first weekend worldwide. While that may put the flick as the biggest worldwide, it still ranks second to The Avengers movie in 2012 which cornered $207.4 million in domestic sales in the US.

So in a way Marvel may have held its own against the reign of the dinosaurs, a franchise that sprung from the pages of the book of writer Michael Crichton and made into a blockbuster by the legendary Steven Spielberg. In more ways than one, Chris Pratt on Jurassic World 2 rocks!
