Dragon Quest Heroes Demo in Square Enix E3 Booth Revealed Gameplay; Producer explains title an original RPG and not another Warriors game

By

Dragon Quest Heroes has finally shown more of itself in E3, particularly among the booths of Square Enix where avid gamers had the chance to experience the game and divulge some details. Moreover, the game producer shared some statements as to how the title would become different from other titles in the Warriors franchise. With the release coming in October, fans get another convincing reason to add this to their gaming collection.

A reporter from Siliconera talks about his experience with Dragon Quest Heroes through the gaming booth from Square Enix, in addition to the fact that he had an opportunity to chat with producer, Ryota Aomi. In terms of how the title would be made different by Omega Force from Warriors games, Aomi cited the intention with Hyrule Warriors to resemble Zelda while still keeping with the Warriors identity.

He clarifies this statement that he actually decided with Yosuke Hayashi, the producer of Koei Tecmo, to make Hyrule Warriors a Warriors game, but with resemblance to Zelda as opposed to the other way around. On the other hand, he says as he shares about the current game, "The way we thought about Dragon Quest Heroes was quite different. Rather than try to create a Warriors game... we wanted to create a Dragon Quest game that had become an action RPG."

With that in mind, the title is actually a branch of the Dragon Quest franchise rather than a part of the Warriors set. Aomi adds, "They may look very similar, but we feel that the core of the game is very different." He ends the interview by emphasizing that the new title has taken a change despite being from Koei Tecmo. It is inevitable to carry the impression of being a Warriors game, although players should be aware of this thought.

Dragon Quest Heroes will arrive for the PS4 on October 13 in North America and on October 16 in the UK. As announced by Square Enix, two editions are being sold - Day One Edition as well as the Special Collector's Edition. Fans should come back soon for more updates on the title.
