Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur is underway as it is slated for release next year. The movie's star-studded cast will be joined by the soccer star David Beckham as he will be playing the "Blackleg Leader".
David Beckham will soon be seen wearing a medieval attire as he will be making an appearance in Guy Ritchie's Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur. The famous retired soccer player will appear in that one important scene where the sword Excalibur is drawn.
"There's going to be a version of the scene where Excalibur gets drawn from the stone. This is where Beckham factors in." A source reportedly said.
"There were some football puns written for this scene," the source added.
"And there's a little bit of a sense that Beckham's character, who fancies himself a big player in this story, gets a little ticked off when this other fellow, this upstart, is the one who can free the sword."
Beckham waill play as the "Blackleg leader" and will star alongside, Charlie Hunnam who is set to play King Arthur, Jude Law who will play the role of Vortigern, and Astrid Berges-Frisbey. The cast also includes Katie McGrath, Eric Bana, Djimon Hounsou, and Poppy Delevigne.
Knights of the Round Table plot will be about King Arthur discovering his royalty upon drawing the sword, Excalibur and seeking for justice against Vortigern.
"The bold new story introduces a streetwise young Arthur who runs the back alleys of Londinium with his gang, unaware of the life he was born for until he grasps hold of the sword Excalibur-and with it, his future. Instantly challenged by the power of Excalibur, Arthur is forced to make some hard choices. Throwing in with the Resistance and a mysterious young woman named Guinevere, he must learn to master the sword, face down his demons and unite the people to defeat the tyrant Vortigern, who stole his crown and murdered his parents, and become King." The synopsis read.
Filming for the movie has started, and Guy Ritchie even shared a photo of the first day of filming, where he posed alongside Hunnam who is wearing a medieval attire.
Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur scheduled for release on July 22, 2016.
