5SOS's Michael Clifford Burnt Face During London Show: Guitarist on his way to recovery

Michael Clifford, 5 Seconds of Summer's guitarist encountered an accident during the band's live performance at Wembley Arena in London on June 13, 2015 and suddenly burnt almost half of his face when he walked too close towards one of the concert's on-stage setup pyrotechnics displays. The guitarist is already recovering and set to be back on the band's other booked performances very soon.

TV Guide reported a tweet from Michael Clifford saying apologies to the fans for he wasn't able to finish the whole set of the concert because of what happened. On his tweet, he also posted a photo of him having bandages on his face while striking the ok sign or thumbs-up telling fans not to worry too much about his situation.

The 19-year old guitarist of the Australian boy band was quickly rushed to the hospital because of the accidental burning of his face, The Daily Mail UK reports. As per Michael Clifford's statement, his hair caught a fire from the pyrotechnics displays on stage. He posted his initial condition on his personal Twitter and Instagram account respectively.

The other members of the band have been very supportive and helpful for Michael Clifford. That in fact, following the incident, Ashton Irwin, one of the band's members, took the microphone and told the crowd that they will not be continuing the show as reported by MTV.

Moreover, the guitarist is keeping his sense of humor. 5 Seconds of Summer's spokesperson confirmed that Michael Clifford is recovering well after being cleared with the doctors and he will be able to join the third and final leg of the band's London show. The band's spokesperson also thanked the fans for being very supportive in the band and specifically with Michael Clifford's condition and also finalized that there will be no more pyrotechnic production on the show to avoid circumstances like this.
