Konami has already begun damage control concerning the issue of microtransactions as it relates to their upcoming blockbuster release, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
During Konami's presentation of a new gameplay trailer for the title at E3, the company addressed the issue of microtransactions head on, according to Gamer Center Online.
Konami quickly copped to Metal Gear Solid V supporting microtransactions, but they also said the ones present inside the game have been carefully crafted to ensure they are well-balanced.
Konami also said that every single item or weapon in the game is attainable even without ever engaging in any microtransactions. The company said the microtransactions are simply there to act as an optional feature for players who may not be able to spend as much time playing the game as they would want to.
Fans immediately voiced their concerns about the microtransactions being a part of Metal Gear Solid V as soon as they found out they would be parts of the game, according to Gamespot.
Aside from addressing the issue of microtransactions, the E3 trailer for Metal Gear Solid V also gave fans a look at other features of the title, including its buddy system, dynamic weather, and side missions.
Konami has already promised to provide more details about Metal Gear Solid V in the near future.
