Wonder Woman makes an appearance in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" that in fact, the latest promotional pictures of the latter movie show the woman superhero symbolizing women empowerment. Actress Evangeline Lilly, who once dreamt of playing the said role, however believes that Wonder woman was just created at a time that was sexist.
WOMAN POWER
Before "Wonder Woman" makes her own mark in the stand alone movie, she will already be introduced in Batman v Superman. International Business Times reports that in the latter movie, Wonder Woman was prioritized in the billing where she is shown at the center, with Batman and Superman shown in a smaller size at her back. The promotional image shows a comic sketch of a somewhat silhouette of Wonder Woman holding a sword while Batman and Superman are suspended in the air behind her. Wonder Woman is wearing a costume with a star logo on her forehead.
The other photo meanwhile shows Wonder Woman with a more visible costume consisting of a cape, skirt, bustier and boots matched with a sword in her hand. Batman and Superman are again seen flying in the air but they only look like small silhouettes.
Gal Gadot, who will play Wonder Woman, says the superhero can jump high and fly. Wonder Woman has weapons such as the tiara, Lasso of Truth and two unbreakable bracelets. She knows a lot of martial arts styles that Gadot had to practice kung fu, jujitsu, kickboxing and other forms of martial arts in order also to achieve the needed body strength of the hero.
Comic Book says Warner Brothers seems to be emphasizing on the role of women in the superhero world. However, The Hindu reports that actress Evangeline Lilly believes that Wonder Woman was a character that arose at a time when men ruled the world. Lilly says Wonder Woman was a "pin-up model running around", which is something she did not want to do. The actress gave up her dream role as "Wonder Woman" for AntMan where she plays as Hope Van Dyne.
Nevertheless, for many, "Wonder Woman" is not just a sexy and beautiful lass but a woman of strength that fans have been taking seriously.
