Shameless has been renewed by Showtime for season 6 fast before fans can say elephant and everyone's excited for news, plot spoilers and announcement of release date set early next year.
Major cast Dermot Mulroney is excited to be back on set for the sixth season of Shameless saying, "I had a great time on 'Shameless' on set last year. I joined their fifth season and they are having me back for Season 6."
Mulroney portrays the role Sean Pierce who first appeared and joined the cast in Shameless Season 5. His character is a former addict and the new manager at Patsy's Pies where Emmy Rossum, who portrays the role of Fiona, works. Mulroney says that he's very excited to start filming for Shameless Season 6 this summer.
"It's amazing, especially to join a cast where most the crew members have been there from year one. Everybody enjoys working for a John Wells production," he explained the excitement.
He further added, "It is a well-oiled machine. They have a rule; you're not allowed to bring your script pages on the set. So that means you're expected to know every line from the first rehearsal. They log in and they start shooting right away," he explained. "It's super-fast, super-challenging and, obviously, if you have seen the show, you've seen the quality in the writing and the cast. So I couldn't believe my fortune."
Mulroney also shares how the production called him on a Friday to do the shoot the following Monday. "I had just two days to even contemplate being on 'Shameless,'" he said. It just confirms how much he loves working in Shameless.
Now, for Shameless Season 6, the plot thickens. It is reported that in the next season, might have to reevaluate what they think they know about love and relationships.
Fiona and Gus (Steve Kazee) had a fall out in the fifth season finale while Fiona came running to Sean. However, Sean rejects her and it just shows how Fiona is really confused right now.
Another break up from the past season is Mickey, portrayed by Noel Fisher, and Ian's, portrayed by Cameron Monaghan. Showrunner John Wells explained, "[Fisher] was going to do a movie and wasn't prepared to sign on for another year, so I have to check back in with him in a few months and see."
So, there's a big chance for Fisher to be missing in Shameless Season 6. Sorry, fans but just hope for Fisher's schedule to clear up soon.
Showtime's Shameless Season 6 is on the go and is set to premiere early 2016. Showtime has yet to announce a specific air date.
