'Street Fighter V' Update: Japanese gamers rants about Cammy, calls her 'shockingly ugly' in the latest installment

By

Some Japanese fans apparently aren't big fans of Street Fighter V's version of Cammy, calling the covert commando "shockingly ugly."

The comments were made by the fans after seeing Cammy's new look in the official trailer for the game, and the feedback clearly isn't positive. Some fans who even thought the others were exaggerating before, have since changed their mind after seeing the video, according to WCCF Tech.

There are various reasons fans are pointing to for why Cammy looks as bad as she does in the game. Some have suggested that the black outlining used to create her look has her coming off looking haggard instead.

It also looks like the angle at which the cameras hit Cammy are also affecting the way she appears onscreen. She can look cute and attractive when viewed from a specific angle, and then seen in not quite the same flattering light when shown from others, according to Rocket News 24.

Despite the criticism being leveled towards Cammy's looks, fans are still glad to see her sporting her trademark outfit for the new game.

Her inclusion in Street Fighter V was actually announced via the latest video for the game. She joins the cast of characters together with the gargantuan punk-rocker Birdy.

In related news, Capcom has now formally launched their European sign-ups for the beta version of Street Fighter V, according to Dual Shockers.

Capcom has yet to announce just how long they plan to support the beta version of Street Fighter V.

American fans can also apply for the beta version of Street Fighter V, but they'll have to do so another way.

Instead of signing up on a website, American fans will need to pre-order the game first before they too can enjoy the beta version of Street Fighter V.

Street Fighter V is expected to be released in March 2016.
