Angelina Jolie is still being eyed to reprise her role as Maleficent in the upcoming movie sequel. However, there is no confirmation yet from the actress, who earlier expressed her plans of quitting acting and focusing behind the scenes instead.
Vine Report says that screenwriter Linda Woolverton will still write the script for Maleficent 2 and she is continuously keeping Angelina Jolie updated. However, Jolie is yet to confirm if she will reprise her role as the winged fairy villain-turned heroine Maleficent.
Jolie was earlier quoted as saying that she thought they did Maleficent comprehensively and did not expect there would be a sequel. Moreover, according to Cheat Sheet, Jolie has announced about her plans of retiring from acting to shift to directing for good. The one of the most sought after actress admitted that she never loved appearing on screen nor felt comfortable being an actress. The actress made her directorial debut in the film "Unbroken", saying she sees herself better as a director than an actor.
Before totally giving up acting though, Jolie has a few projects to finish. Voicing one of the characters of Kung Fu Panda is one of them. However, this remains to be confirmed. She will also co-star with her husband Brad Pitt in "By The Sea" which is her next directorial project.
Christian Today meanwhile confirms that Angelina Jolie will no longer reprise her role in "Salt" and "Wanted" as she has turned down offers.
Meanwhile, there is no information yet on the possible plot of Maleficent 2. The prequel ended happily ever after and fans would surely want to know what will happen between Maleficent and her newfound adopted daughter Princess Aurora who now both live in a fantasy world.
