Filming has officially started for Divergent: Allegiant Part 1 and cast members even shared photos of their first few days of filming on set. Also, new characters have been added to the film's cast.
Photos of the filming of Allegiant Part 1 in Atlanta surfaced online showing the Divergent franchise's stars, Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Zoe Kravitz, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Octavia Spencer.
But even the stars themselves seem to be enthusiastic in sharing the events during the first few days of filming, as they posted photos and details of the movie in their social media accounts.
One of the movie's screenwriters, Bill Collage posted on twitter describing the first day of filming, "First shot of #Allegiant went super this morning. We're up and running! @shailenewoodley #TheoJames" Collage tweeted. He also later tweeted that he's humbled watching the cast work.
Keiylan Lonsdale, who plays the role of Uriah has also been active on social media, posting photos from the set, and even shared his adventure of exploring Georgia when he wasn't filming. Ansel Elgort who plays Caleb even shared a photo of the place and tweeted, "Back on set, can you guess what movie? (Dystopian future)".
It also seems like the cast has been having fun together in between takes as Octavia Spencer tweeted, "@KeiynanLonsdale had the most spec-Tac-u-lar day sharing laughs w/ you #Leo #Shai #Ansel #Zoe #WhatKindOfFuckeryIsThis #YouHadToBeThere".
Meanwhile, new additions had been made for the cast of Divergent: Allegiant as German actress Nadia Hilker is now on board to play the role of Nita. Looper actor Jeff Daniels had also been cast to play as the leader of Bureau of Genetic Welfare, David. Bill Skarsgard is also set to play Matther in the upcoming movie.
Of course, Shailene Woodley, Theo James, and Ansel Elgort are set to reprise their roles as Tris, Four, and Caleb respectively. Ray Stevenson will also be back as Marcus, Four's estranged father, Mekhi Phifer as Max, and Maggie Q as Tori.
Divergent: Allegiant Part 1 is the third of the four films in the Divergent franchise, which will be directed by Robert Schwentke. It is due to hit theaters on March 18, 2016.
