"Orphan Black" is set to enter develop new storylines for its fourth season, which will premiere next year. Although there are still a few mysteries that need answers, co-creator John Fawcett reveals that season 4 is going to give the sisters some fresh start as speculations surface that Helena could be giving birth to a child soon.
Despite the cliffhanger that the last season left the viewers of "Orphan Black," Fawcett and their team of writers intend to move on to different chapters. In an interview with Variety, the co-creator expressed his satisfaction towards the conclusion of the third season as he thinks it gave a lot of answers to some mysteries raised throughout the season.
"It was really important for us in one of our most complex seasons to end with a lot of answers and feel like we've had some triumph and victory, and be in a place at the end of season three where we could go 'now we can take a breather, we can reset.'" He adds, "We didn't want to end the season in some giant cliffhanger that meant we were gonna have to start exactly where we left off."
Fawcett admits that they wanted to have a resolution and an emotional ending for season three to prepare for "Orphan Black" season 4.
One of the stories that they could tackle on the next season of BBC America's hit sci-fi series is the possibility of Helena having a child like her sister, Sarah. According to Buddy TV, Helena could give birth to her own baby next season since it has been her dream to be a mother. Although she could be both odd and reckless, viewers have seen her affection towards Kira (Skyler Wexler) and how she cares for her.
Meanwhile a lot of fans have noticed that the gem the show, Tatiana Maslany, has been ignored by the Emmys for a long time now despite her remarkable performance on the show. Maslany told Deadline that she does not take it badly there are a lot of actresses from other series who also show outstanding portrayals of their roles.
"I think television is the place that all of the unique characters are coming from right now. I think it's a societal thing, and I think that women are really stepping into a place of power in TV, in terms of all leading series, Olive Kitteridge orHouse Of Cards or Orange Is The New Black."
The new stories that co-creator John Fawcett is cooking together with the other "Orphan Black" writers are definitely something to watch out for. Could Helena really give birth to her own baby? Will there be more clones as the series resets? All these will be answered when season 4 drops next year on BBC America.
