The fans of Kit Harrington might still be grieving with his character's fate in the season 5 of "Game of Thrones" which concluded just last week. However, they do not need to worry of not seeing the actor onscreen as he officially boarded the new thriller "Brimstone", replacing "Twilight" actor Robert Pattinson who recently withdrew from the project.

Subbing in for the "Twilight" actor, Robbert Pattinson, who just recently dropped out of the project, "Game of Thrones" lead star Kit Harrington has officially joined the cast of "Brimstone". According to Empire, the upcoming thriller film will follow the story of a young woman named Liz who is attempting to escape from her past, particularly, from an evil sort who is known as Preacher.

The 28-year-old actor will reportedly portray the character of Samuel who plays an important part in Liz's escape attempt. As per Entertainment Weekly's report, "Brimstone" will serve as a mini Thrones reunion, as the show's co-star Carice van Houten will also be featured in the film. Apart from van Houten, Dakota Fanning ("Very Good Girls", "Effie Gray") will also appear in the film as the lead character, Liz, alongside Paul Anderson ("Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows"), Jack Roth ("The Great Train Robbery"), and Carla Juri ("Wetlands").

"Brimstone" is produced by Els Vandevorst ("Dogville") of Holland's N279 Entertainment and Uwe Schott ("Amour") of X-Filme, Variety reports. Antonino Lombardo of Belgium's Prime Time, Peter Hiltunen of Dragon Films in Sweden, and the Jokers' Manuel Chiche and Violaine Barbaroux from France are also reported to co-produce the upcoming thriller.

Apart from this film, Harington is also attached to play the titular role in "The Death And Life Of John F. Donovan" which is currently in development. He's also slated to appear in HBO's comedy Tennis flick "7 Days in Hell" which will debut on the cable channel on July 11.

Meanwhile, "Brimstone" has already started its principal photography recently. With cinematographer Roger Stoffers ("The School of Rock"), the project will reportedly feature some locations in Romania, Spain and Germany. It is directed by Martin Koolhoven ("Winter in Wartime") who also penned the screenplay of the forthcoming film.
