Counter Strike is probably the most widely played and most well known first person shooter game to date. Counter Strike's most popular and perhaps best-laid map de_dust2 has been recreated using the zombie open world first person shooter Dying Light.
In a gameplay walkthrough video created by YouTube user SlenderDan, the recreated map shows the full extent of the brilliant recreation of the most popular Counter Strike map to date. User SlenderDan admits to have never played Counter Strike in any shape, way or form which shocked Counter Strike fans to some extent. After all, Counter Strike has been the most notable first person shooter since its conception in the early 2000s.
Most players consider Counter Strike's map de_dust2 as the best strategically outlined map for a first person shooter co-op and has since been one of the most played maps in video game history. It's no surprise that recreating the iconic map would be recreated in other first-person shooter games like Dying Light. Dying Light's de_dust2 version is rife with arsenal scattered throughout the map.
While SlenderDan admits to not having played Counter Strike prior to exploring Dying Light's de_dust2 map, Counter Strike players should be delighted to know that the map has been recreate in near perfection. The Dying Light version of de_dust2 map has been painstakingly remade with important de_dust2 locations: Terrorist spawn site, Counter Terrorist spawn site, Mid, Long, tunnels, and of course the Bomb Site. The map's objectives seem simple enough, but most importantly, the map was crafted with the utmost care in recreating the original Counter Strike de_dust2 map site. With the exception of the zombie hordes that litter the map site and the ability to use Excalibur as a weapon, the map is a wonderfully nostalgic Counter Strike recreation.
First person open world shooter game Dying Light developed by Techland and publsihed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is available for PC, Linux, PS4 and Xbox One gaming consoles.
