A 2018 release might happen for Indiana Jones 5. Actor Chris Pratt is in talks to take on the lead role as Harrison Ford is already old to do the action adventure movie although there is no confirmation yet from the former.
Despite various rumours spreading, "Indiana Jones 5" is definitely going to happen. According to iSchool Guide, Lucasfilm President Katherine Kennedy has actually confirmed about it. Moreover, the movie sequel is set to be released in December 2018. However, limited information about the upcoming film is available.
Because Indiana Jones starrer Harrison Ford, at 72, is already old for the role, Chris Pratt of "Jurassic World" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" is said to be eyed by director Steven Spielberg to replace the veteran actor. Pratt however says unless there is nothing happening yet, it remains to be unofficial.
Indiana Jones is referred to as Dr. Henry Walton Jones Jr., a character created by George Lucas to honor the 1930s films series. Dr. Jones first appeared in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" in 1981, followed by "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" in 1984, "Indiana Jones and the Temple Crusade" in 1989 and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" in 2008.
Fans will surely watch out for Indiana Jones 5, having been recently named as the number 1 greatest movie character of all time in a poll done by Empire Magazine. The Guardian also does not discount the possibility that Harrison Ford may still continue doing the movie given that he is doing "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".
Realty Today says Lucasfilm is currently focused on the Star Wars and there are no talks yet about an Indiana Jones 5 script.
