Dylan O'Brien's immediate rose to fame was cemented when he landed the role of Thomas for the movie adaptation of James Dashner's "The Maze Runner" dystopian book series. With all the pent up anticipation for "The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials'" release this September, the actor teases in an interview how getting out of the maze turned out to be the one of the worst decision his group has ever made in the movie.
Hollywire got into a one - on - one interview with Dylan O'Brien and it was there that the actor teased how detrimental things will get for the characters in "The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials." The actor starts off describing how the world has turned out to be and that leaving the maze was not the end - rather it was a beginning of something worse.
He teased, "For audience members, you would think that out of the maze is the end of the story and it's not. And I think what my character was surprised by is how detrimental that could end up being. Actually, getting out may have been the worst decision. They are basically played right into their (WICKED) hands. They are essentially in an entire new trial but now they're out in the world. No walls. There's nothing to protect them. It's just survival. "
"The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials" will introduce an all new adventure for Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) and the rest of his surviving group with Teresa (Kaya Scodelario), Newt (Thomas Brodie-Sangster), Minho (Ki Hong Lee), Frypan (Dexter Darden), Winston (Alexander Flores) and more. After having to deal with the terrors inside the walls, the group now faces the horror of what the world has turned out to be - all under the influence of WICKED.
New characters will be introduced as "Game of Thrones" stars Nathalie Emmnuel joins the wagon, Aiden Gillen takes the main villain mantle and ultimate newcomer Lora Martinez-Cunningham will be playing the role of Thomas' mother for the second installment.
Expect character developments, more dystopian scenarios and survival antics in "The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials"-directed by Wes Ball. It opens in theaters on September 18, 2015.
