Marvel Studio President Kevin Feige reveals what's to come for "Doctor Strange" with the involvement of the Ancient One, the Sanctum, how reality-warping the film will be and more. Plus, Marvel Cinematic Universe's transcendent hype caused a fan-made video to go viral for its great psychedelic title sequence depiction.
Kevin Feige has been doing press rounds for the promotion of "Ant-Man" but the question about next year's "Doctor Strange" was inevitably thrown into the air pertaining to the details about the Sanctum, the Ancient One and the quality of Strangeness to be detected in the film.
According to Comic Book.com, the Marvel Studios President revealed that The Sanctum will be located right where it should be-in a modern setting of the Bleecker Street. Answering the remarks about the Doctor's strange antics, "(Doctor Strange) will be the strangest thing walking out onto that street," he said. How strange?
He continues that at the end part of "Ant-Man," they will be inserting a mind-warping sequence that viewers cannot expect. "We send Ant-Man on a very weird, mind-bending journey at the end of Ant-Man. It was something we hadn't seen in a shrinking movie before, but it also represents the tip of the mind-bending weirdness we're going to do in Strange, which I think will surprise people."
In regards to the speculations on Tilda Swinton's acquisition of The Ancient One's role, Feige simply explains that the role will be more focused on the mantle rather than to a specific person-emphasizing that sorcerers have been into existence for millennia and that's something that the movie will also be delving upon. This includes the probability of having multiple Ancient Ones which makes the role more impactful as opposed to making it character-centric.
Moreover, in light of the preparation for the beginning of the production for "Doctor Strange," a fan-made video went viral for its incredible depiction of the studios probable title sequence. Designed by This Is Productions, the video adapted the 2D image materials from the original Marvel Comic Book and transformed it into a 3-Dimensional masterpiece. It was uploaded Tuesday - June 23, 2015.
"Doctor Strange" is one of next year's Marvel Phase Three frontrunners that will follow the opening of "Captain America: Civil War." With the titular role being played by well-known British actor, Benedict Cumberbatch, fans can set high expectation for the Scott Derrickson directed film adaptation of the comic book series. It opens in theaters on November 4, 2016.
