Iggy Azalea has managed to earn the ire of many fans of Britney Spears when the Australian rapper responded to a tweet of the disappointing performance of her collaboration with Spears, "Pretty Girls." The rapper thought that the single would have performed better than its dismal performance.
"Its difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and tv performances etc. unfortunately im just featured." Iggy Azalea posted on her Twitter. The song has garnered around 79 million views on YouTube, and has even been named "Song of Summer 2015" beating Fifth Harmony's "Worth It". Despite this fact, the song which was meant to be a female empowerment track has only received the No. 29 spot since its debut in May.
Iggy angered many fans of Britney Spears, who immediately took to Twitter to defend their pop idol. The Britney fans told Iggy that she was being "disrespectful" and even called her a "hypocrite." Iggy said that she was not dissing Spears in any way, saying that they were both "good friends" but Iggy dropped the bomb when she posted on her Twitter.
"My comment is factual, it applies to any song. I dont have to suck the womans a****** 24/7 to be her friend, do i? bye girls," she tweeted.
Iggy had initally revealed that "Pretty Girls" would have been her exclusive track, had she had her way. She also added that it was Spears who would have been the featured artist but things did not work out that way.
"I rewrote parts of it and it became my song, and I tried to make it all mine and keep it," she said in an interview with Access Hollywood.
Britney has been quiet so far as to Iggy's rants, though she has left an ominous quote on her Twitter.
