Additions to the Bourne 5 cast are slowly being made as Alicia Vikander is officially on board. Julia Stiles is also set to reprise her role as Nicky Parsons while Viggo Mortensen has been offered to take on the villain role.
Jason Bourne is set to bring in some heart-stopping action in another instalment in the Bourne franchise. Matt Damon is set to play the titular role along with Julia Stiles who will reprise her role as the CIA operative Nicky Parsons. Stiles' role also hinted romantic feelings for Bourne in the past films. She will come back after not appearing in 'Bourne Legacy' which was lead by Jeremy Renner.
'Ex Machina' star Alicia Vikander is also on board for Bourne 5, although, there are no details yet pertaining to the character she will portray. Aside from Bourne 5, Vikander was also previously courted for Assassin's Creed, which she later dropped due to the conflict between the latter film and Bourne 5 in terms of schedule. She will also be seen in the big screen later this year for guy Ritchie's 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.'
Meanwhile, 'The Lord of the Rings' actor Viggo Mortensen might be the next addition to the cast as he is rumored to be in talks for a villainous role in the upcoming fifth installment of the Bourne franchise. Mortensen has been part of numerous movies ncluding 'Hidalgo', 'Eastern Promises', 'Far from Men', 'The Road', and 'Appalosa'. Mortensen's involvement is not yet confirmed as he has not signed on any deal pertaining to Bourne 5 just yet.
A report cited that Mortensen previously turned down a project due to conflict in filming schedules and has also been very picky in terms of the roles he portrays.
The upcoming Bourne film, which is currently being referred to as 'Bourne 5' is written by Matt Damon, Paul Greengrass, Robert Ludlum, and Christopher Rouse, and will be directed by Greengrass. It is set to hit theaters in July 29, 2016.
