George R.R. Martin might work double time for Winds of Winter. A lot of fans say that the author is trying to finish the book as soon as he can in time for the Hugo Awards 2016.
According to Kpopstarz, Hugo Awards will only allow books under science and fantasy categories which are released a year before. If this will be the case, George R.R. Martin should announce the release date before December 31 of this year. However, it seems that the target is a date nearer the 6th season of Game of Thrones, or April of 2016.
The author of A Song of Ice and Fire has shared that he is having challenges finishing Winds of Winter. Christian Today has reported that George R.R. Martin has a lot of projects on his hands. In fact, he is working with huge networks, HBO and Cinemax for three different concepts. Plus, he will be going from one place to another. Thus, an indication that Winds of Winter might not be able to be in the shelves this 2015.
The author's live journal, Not a Blog, shared that he will be in Germany in the upcoming days. He revealed that he will have a big event in Hamburg.
"On Thursday, we're off to Germany. I have a big event in Hamburg, and Sibel Kekilli has promised to show me her city... seeing as how I showed her Santa Fe a few months ago, it's only fair. From there I'll be flying to Sweden for a few days in Stockholm, then taking a ferry to the Aland Islands for my long-planned appearance as GOG at Archipelacon. "
It seems that the author will be preoccupied and this has heightened the fear of his followers. Considering that George R.R. Martin is a slow writer, they are anticipating further delays even if he already cancelled a number of events and conferences.
