One of the favorite on-screen couples that fans got to love, Amy and Sheldon, broke up during the finale episode of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 8 and Mayim Bialik, the actress who plays the role of Amy, dished on the possibility that the ring that Sheldon had in his hand might not actually be an engagement ring.
In the finale episode of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 8, Sheldon was seen talking to Amy on his laptop and was ready to "propose," as what everyone assumed, but the latter said she wants to cool things off first. He then talks to a small figurine of Golum in which Sheldon asked what he would do with the ring since Golum was an expert on rings, referencing the movie "Lord of the Rings," Realty Today reported.
Bialik was interviewed just recently and she opened up about her character and the supposed proposal between her and Sheldon Cooper. Bialik pointed out that the ring might not have anything to do with a proposal as it was not mentioned in the entirety of Season 8. She said that no one knows what the ring's story is as Sheldon is very unpredictable.
Bialik added, "We don't know if it was something he got from his mother. We don't know what the process was by which he acquired that and what he would think to do with it." She also noted that fans should not be speculating so much about Amy and Sheldon's relationship as the slow progress of things between them, romantically that is, could make anything happen.
According to IBTimes, the showrunner of "The Big Bang Theory," Steve Molaro, said that Amy and Sheldon are not yet done talking so Season 9 will give an answer to the hanging questions that were left last season.
In another report by Food World News, fans will be seeing what happened to Penny and Leonard after they decided to get married in Las Vegas and if Raj will be breaking up with Emily.
"The Big Bang Theory" will be hitting the small screen with its 9th season on September 21, Monday.
